Eye of the Storm
An original Photographic Print of Storm Arwen hammering the famous Saltburn By The Sea Pier, during the morning tide.
Saltburn's Victorian pier was the first iron pier to be built on the North East Coast, is the most northerly surviving British Pier and the only remaining pleasure pier on the North East coast. Built in an exposed position and facing due north into the unforgiving North Sea. With an original length of 1500ft, due to storm damage and for safety reasons, the pier now extends 681ft into the Sea.
This photograph was taken during Storm Arwen, on November 27th, 2021
